Clear scope. Published prices. No mystery before the first conversation.

We publish prices so you can decide whether a conversation is worth having before spending time on a sales process. The right engagement still depends on your situation, but the starting shape should be visible. Start with a free Technical Health Review: a 30-minute intake, an offline read-only assessment, and a 30-minute findings call. If the review identifies work worth doing, we agree the outcome and scope before proposing a fixed-price one-time engagement. You can fix now, fix later, or leave it when no work is justified. Ongoing accountability is a separate Technical Ownership option.

Clear priorities. Practical next steps. No pressure to build.

Technical Health Review Free One review per new client, at the start of the relationship
Stabilize $10,000–$16,000 Address the highest-priority risks and make an existing application safer to operate.
Advisory $2,500 founding / $3,500 standard per month Founding-client rate, locked for 12 months
Technical Ownership (fractional CTO) $4,000 founding / $6,000 standard per month Founding-client rate, locked for 12 months
Build $30,000–$48,000 Plan and create a focused custom application or business system.

A senior engineer costs about $260,000–$280,000 a year fully loaded.

That is roughly $22,000 a month and takes about 42 days to hire, before ramp-up. A $4,000/month founding-client retainer is 18% of one hire, starts this week, and can stop with 30 days' notice.

We don't sell hours, so we have no reason to be slow. Most technical help is billed by the hour, which means the more slowly a problem is solved, the more it costs. We charge for the outcome.

How the pricing works.

A published price is a starting point, not a promise that every project has the same shape.

One-time engagement

Scope first, then a fixed price.

Stabilize and Build are published ranges. After the review, a specific one-time proposal is agreed from the desired outcome and scope before work begins.

Review outcome

Fix now, fix later, or leave it.

The review gives you a clear next step. Fix now means a scoped one-time proposal; fix later records when to revisit; leave it means no work is recommended where it is not justified.

Ongoing accountability

Technical Ownership when a discrete project is not the right fit.

Choose the monthly Technical Ownership service when the business needs continuing technical accountability rather than one-time delivery.

Scope

Work outside the agreed scope.

New requirements, additional systems, and substantial changes are discussed before they are added.

Third-party costs

Hosting, software, API, or vendor fees.

These are paid by the client unless a proposal explicitly says otherwise.

Guarantees

Guaranteed business outcomes, uptime, or revenue.

We can improve the system and the decision-making around it, but outcomes depend on the business and its users.

Rush work

Unplanned emergency availability.

Response times and scheduling are agreed for each engagement; published prices do not imply an emergency SLA.
